Projects Across IT

This page brings together all my projects from various fields within information technology.

Exploring Home Networking

This section showcases the projects I’ve completed while exploring how devices communicate, how traffic is managed, and how network performance and privacy can be improved. Each project adds a new layer to my understanding of networking.

  • Pi-hole

A network-wide ad blocker that protects your devices by filtering unwanted ads and trackers.

  • Raspberry Pi Router

A mobile Pi-based router that links back to your home network from any location.

  • Converting Mini-PC to Home Router

Turning a mini PC into a powerful home router using Proxmox for virtualization and network control.

Cybersecurity Fundamentals

This section showcases the projects I’ve completed as I explore how attacks occur, how defenses are built, and how security risks can be reduced through practical techniques. Each project helps expand my foundation in cybersecurity.

  • Active Directory Lab (WS2019)

Building a hands-on Active Directory lab in VirtualBox to learn authentication, permissions, Group Policy, and real-world misconfigurations.

  • High Availability in Pi-Hole with keepalived

This project builds a highly available DNS setup using two Pi-hole instances with Keepalived, creating a shared virtual IP that automatically fails over to ensure continuous and reliable network name resolution.

  • pfSense Lab Series – Part 1: Lab Setup

This project documents the design and setup of a pfSense-based virtual network lab used to safely learn and experiment with core networking and firewall concepts in an isolated environment.
